Holland Jachtbouw is a full-service shipyard near Amsterdam, in the heart of Holland. In fourteen years it has transformed itself from a small atelier creating jewel-like replicas of classic Dutch flat-bottom boats for local clientele, into an internationally recognised cus-tom builder of traditional and contemporary luxury yachts, satisfying the highest client standards and meeting all required classification rules. Since its inception, Holland Jachtbouw has built more than thirty custom sailing yachts to designs by masters such as Ted Hood, Andrew Winch, Gerard Dijkstra, Ted Fontaine, and Andr? Hoek. The shipyard?s largest build so far is the Dijkstra-designed 152 ft schooner Windrose, which in 2002 beat the 97-year transatlantic crossing record and won the ShowBoats International award for ?Best Technical Achievement.? In 2003, the yard launched two of the most important yachts of the period, the 105 ft cutter Christof-fel?s Lighthouse designed by Dijkstra as a updated ocean-going version of a Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter, and the 36 meter sloop Whisper, created by Hood, Fontaine, and Winch as a comfortable blue water cruiser and charter yacht. Both yachts have received unqualified acclaim in the international press. During summer 2004 Holland Jachtbouw launches its first motoryacht, the 105 ft semi-displacement Cassiopeia by Bill Langan, a handsome American-style cruiser for an American client, proving its construction team?s versatility as well as its craftsman-ship. Holland Jachtbouw now has under construction a 37-meter lightweight performance sloop designed in a trim modern style by Bill Dixon, and a 125 ft classic schooner by Hoek. With its professional staff of designers, engineers, skilled shipwrights, expert technicians, and joiners, Holland Jachtbouw will not only build the finest custom yachts but also will perform full refits in Zaandam.
