Canados is a well known acronym in the yachting business. It stands for CAntieri NAvali Di OStia (Ostia shipyards) and since long time spells for reliability, safety, perseverance and continuity. The shipyard started operations in November 1945 building some military boats and than decided to specialise in leisure yachts. The founders of Canados had truly made the history of the boat-building business in Italy being always at the forefront of the technological improvements applied to the leisure yachts. Ostia is situated 30 km. west of Rome, on the Tyrrhenian Sea and only 7 km. away from Fiumicino International Airport. Since the incorporation of Canados, Ostia became one of the ?hot-spots? for boat building in Italy and skilled labour continue to grew rapidly as the years went by. Nowadays all the skilled expertise needed for yachts? building is available in Ostia and in nearby Fiumicino. The Company had since incorporation changed hand only twice, last of which was in the year 2000. This had enabled Canados to keep up with the same good standard and reliability became its synonym. The numbers of Canados are indeed impressive. In 58 years, they have successfully delivered: - more than 500 motor-yachts ranging from 40? to 120? - more than 150 sailing yachts (some of them became champions of their class in worldwide regattas) - several fast boats for the Coast Guard and other military organisations In Europe no port known by VIPs is without at least a Canados docked. Some of the Canados yachts are also available in the USA, Australia and Asia. Truly only few competitors in Europe can match the achievements of Canados.
