Tradition of two prominent families of entrepreneurs
The bank?s historic roots date back to the first quarter of the twentieth century, linking our bank with two outstanding families of Austrian entrepreneurs: the Gutmann family, which played an important role in the industrial landscape of our region from Gr?nderzeit times to the First Republic, and the Kahane family, which has featured as a leading player in Austria?s corporate world since the end of World War II.
Participation of senior executive staff
The Kahane family as a well-capitalized majority shareholder continues to constitute the backbone of our bank. The circle of shareholders has moreover been expanded and enhanced through equity participation of senior managers.
Capital market and investment specialist for institutional clients
More than 30 years ago Bank Gutmann started to place the debt securities issued by the government, government-related utilities and road construction companies with the leading insurance companies in the Austrian market and thus made an important contribution to infrastructure financing in Austria.
Professional and efficient portfolio management
The investment management company Gutmann KAG, founded in 1986 with a focus on customised mutual fund solutions, has rapidly developed into an important component of our range of investment management services for institutional and high-net-worth private clients. Concurrently, the bank?s custodian department has implemented fully automated processes, upgrading this functional division into one of Austria?s leading centres for technical transaction settlement and securities depositing.
With the establishment of numerous Austrian private foundations for the long-term preservation of large family estates, our bank in the mid-1990s launched a further segment of services for clients with very specific needs and challenges.
