Golfer Tiger Woods could become the world's first billionaire sportsman, thanks to the lucrative retirement plan offered by the PGA Tour. Woods just needs to have a 9% annual return and win just 7 FedEx cups.
Alternatively, Woods could become a billionaire before he even retires, with Forbes stating his 2006 on- and off-course earnings to be around US$100 million. The PGA recently changed their retirement fund structure.
Now, a player can "upgrade" his or her retirement package depending on how many PGA tournaments they win.
