ith 95 super and mega yachts, 530 exhibitors, 8000 square metres of stands and more than 22,000 visitors, the Monaco Yacht show today unites the most prestigious companies from the yachting industry. Seduced by the event's success and prestige, big luxury names have also joined MYS in the past few years like for example Mercedes-Benz, Baccarat and the watch making manufacture Blancpain, who for the last seven years has designed a limited series MONACO Y.S. watch for each event.
95 jewels of the seas Yachting leaders recognise MYS as THE reference yachting trade show. An international event par excellence, it is THE yearly event not to be missed! Shipyards and brokers reserve their most beautiful selection of units for this exceptional trade show, for them it's the place and the ideal moment to unveil their world previews (30 new yachts already confirmed for this year).
This year, in accordance with the current movement which tends towards the construction of even bigger yachts, the priority will be given to large-scale units. Therefore, more than 55% of the yachts registered for 2006 are between 40m and 90m long. Without any doubt, the MYS' stars will be these giants of the seas, most of them being presented in world premiere. Here are some of their best ambassadors: ABILITY - M/Y 54m and GI VI - M/Y 60m from CRN, S/Y Baltic 46,22m, M/Y Baglietto 53m, M/Y Benetti 65m, DILBAR -M/Y Oceanco 66m, OASIS - M/Y Luerssen 60m, MALTESE FALCON - Clipper S/Y 88,10m and ROSEHEARTY, Ketch S/Y 56m from Perini Navi. ...that's without including yachts which will be presented by brokers, the list of which will be revealed on 1st July 2006.
A demanding choice of exhibitors MYS likes to think of itself as representing the yachting sector: shipyards, brokers, designers, manufacturers... A highly complete range of activities is represented there, with exhibitors having the quality of their service and a know-how recognised by the profession in common. Not everyone can exhibit at the MYS! In fact a demanding choice of exhibitors is made, and solid references in the yachting sector are the main criteria. With more than 500 exhibitors, the Monaco Yacht Show is representative of the booming sector which is becoming more professionalised. It is now no longer necessary to increase the size of the trade show on quay - visiting it in four days would be impossible - but each year organisers are endeavouring to improve the quality...
One single watchword: quality! Most of the trade show stands are in the image of yachting: tailor-made, they elegantly compete to appeal to a demanding and wealthy clientele, offering them a luxurious, pleasant welcoming area at first glance.
Last year, the excellent debut of the Darse Sud air conditioned tent, the trade show's biggest tent, led to organisers modifying the plans in order to offer exhibitors more spacious stands. The same approach was followed for the other air conditioned tents (Darse Nord and Parvis de la Piscine) whose plans have been revised. The outside tents situated on the T Central will also be expanded to offer better conditions for receiving clients.
