If you are smitten with your complicated watch, perhaps you’re also ready for the next notch in mechanical accessories—a complicated belt-buckle. The Calibre 8 collection applies a watchmaker’s eye for precision mechanics and meticulous finishing to the delicate task of supporting your trousers.
The CALIBRE 8 MK 1 COLLECTION comprises a patented system of over 108 moveable, mechanical, roller bearings, plates and levers which close your belt with exactly 35 millimeters of slackness. Your tailor will be pleased.
The House of Eight’s artisans in Geneva hand finish each piece, combining precious metals with inlays such as mother-of-pearl, exotic tropical hardwoods or pavé diamonds. The current derivations – R8YAL, C8CKTAIL, 8CEAN, P8LO and C8EVAL – are made in SOLID GOLD with titanium architecture and are released in a limited, numbered series of 88 pieces. Each piece carries an individual serial number which provides a record of both origin and authenticity.
The Calibre 8 SP8RT model was launched in April 2005. It combines GOLD, STEEL and ALUMINUM with the same titanium structures and is more widely available.
Invented, developed and designed by award winning Swiss designer Roland Iten, the superior functionality of the CALIBRE 8 is delivered through an internationally patented mechanism which solves the mystery of the fluctuating waistline. Whatever style you choose, the Calibre 8 Collection lets you bring your passion for elaborate mechanical objects from your wrist to your waistline—another place where Swiss precision is useful.
