Alexander McQueen is one of the most promising young designers in fashion today.

He was named "British Designer of the Year" in 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2003, won the Council of American Fashion Designers' "International Designer" award in June 2003, and was named "Men's Designer of the Year" at the British Fashion Awards in November 2004.

A 51% subsidiary of Gucci Group, the brand mainly sells women's ready-to-wear and accessories through luxury specialty boutiques, department stores and the brand's three boutiques in London, Milan and New York.

The company's objective is to reach profi tability by 2007, by stepping up merchandising, strengthening collections and implementing aggressive growth plans.

In 2004, Jonathan Akeroyd was appointed President and CEO of the brand.
