Volkswagen engineers continue their extended testing of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 -- expected to be the world's most powerful and most expensive production car when it finally arrives this fall, some two years behind the original schedule.
The all-wheel-drive, two-passenger Veyron certainly merits supercar status. Its 8.0-liter W-16 engine is fitted with four turbochargers, producing 1,001 horsepower, with a projected top speed of 249 miles per hour.
The price: An estimated $1 million per copy when the first cars are delivered
